A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Avoid hexagons while touching flowers and collecting pollen. Note that you steer the bee to control its speed and direction of movement, not to control its absolute position.

  • Mouse Y or Left stick Y or Up/Down: Angle up/down
  • Mouse X or Left stick X or Left/Right: Angle left/right

Honeycomb CRUNCH is an example top down scrolling game made using the MIT licenced Godot engine. This game was initially made for a talk on making games for the Tasmanian Linux User Group in May 2019. The game is playable, but it still has a number of rough edges. Wear gloves when handling!

Sources are available on GitLab for anybody who'd like to check them out. A post discussing the game's influences and the value of contributing upstream can be found here.

I hope you find something useful from playing Honeycomb CRUNCH and exploring its code. Enjoy!

P.S. This game is not Hive Time :)

How many assets were re-used in Hive Time?

The relationship goes the other way around. Honeycomb CRUNCH was created after Hive Time development started and uses the bee model I created for Hive Time.

Pretty nice simple game! Getting more and more challenging with the time obviously. Loving it!
