Colossal Cave Adventure - Icicle Edition is an in-development Icicle engine remake of the 1976/7 terminal based text adventure game Adventure (also known as ADVENT, Colossal Cave and Colossal Cave Adventure), originally developed by Will Crowther and expanded by Don Woods.

This iteration of Adventure brings first person mouselook style controls and replaces the text parser with single verb point-and-click adventure style mechanics. Colossal Cave Adventure - Icicle Edition aims to hold true to the spirit and atmosphere of the original game, but does make some content and puzzle concessions in order to fit better with the Icicle engine's interface and structure.

Install instructions

Linux users can use the "colossal_cave.sh" launch script to start the game with the bundled dependencies, or double click on the "colossal_cave" binary to launch the game without them.

Mac users can double click on the "Colossal Cave - Icicle Edition.app" application bundle (the .app extension may be hidden on some systems).

Windows users can double click on the "colossal_cave.exe" executable (the .exe extension may be hidden on some systems).

Note that all builds are currently 64 bit only.
